Five-Starred Red Flag

My country is China. The national flag of the People's Republic of China is called the Five-Starred Red Flag. We know China had a long struggle for the independent and peaceful. and then, Communist party win the war. In Oct. 1st, 1949, New China was foundation. And in July. 1949, Mr. Zeng, who worked in a newspaper company, created and designed the national flag of the People's Republic of China. the national flag raise for first time in Oct. 1st, 1949. One big yellow star and four small one components the national flag. the four small stars mean all the chinese citizen and the big one means the communist party. Chair Mao, the first chair man of China, want all Chinese citizens follow the Chinese Communist party, and also this is a right way. moreover, the national flag's color is red. Chinese people's congress said that the national flag's color is red because they want chinese citizen know the people who dead for the nation's peaceful.

Everyday, the national flag of People's Republic of China raises in Tian'anMen in the morning. that shows us that Chinese people is very unity and peaceful.

Risky Shopping On The Internet

According to Robertson (2006), everybody knows that shopping online is very fast and easy. There is not only saving time, but also can compare the price with different online store very quickly. “The Internet is like a central shopping mall, where you can find just about everything you might need.” However, online shopping is not as fantastic as we thought. It is unsafe and risky. There are many hacks and geeks using illegal ways to get money. And then, online shopping websites are the good deals to steal money very easily. Also, the sellers are not very honest. They just want to get the big benefits. They give a perfect introduction and nice picture to be shown on the Internet and then they give consumers the bad goods. Is that terrible? However, it is truth.

Nowadays, the technology is not completely perfect. Online shopping looks very good. However, there are still lots of problem during your shopping time on the Internet. Many cases cannot be solved on the Internet, such as credit card stolen; goods broken and the shipping taking a long time. Those problems can show that Internet shopping is not very safe or easy.

First of all, when people buy something on the Internet, their money is not safety. People use credit cards to buy something on the Internet. It is really fast and convenient. However, we lose our money when we type the credit card number. Is it terrible? “Technology has made what I did simple. Crime is getting easier, faster and harder to detect” (Nicholls. 2006, Para. 5). According to Nicholls, the hacks can steal your money very easily when you buy some goods on the Internet. Also, we can read the report from Jennifer, “credit-card companies lose about $1 billion a year to credit-card fraud, while merchants lose about $10 billion annually, according to CardWeb, a credit-card information site” (2008, para.8). Therefore, online shopping is unsafe for our money.

Second, the goods, which you bought, may not be the same as you saw them when you have been bought them. Online shopping seems bland shopping. You cannot see the products until you buy it. It is dangerous that some online store may give you wrong stuff or bad stuff. And then, you cannot return them forever. That is a question. We use online shopping because it is cheap and convenient, but we cannot accept that pay less money and get bad things. That means the online shopping’s goods is good or bad depending on whether the seller is good or bad. Therefore, online shopping is dangerous and risky.

Finally, the shipping is also a problem. For example, a man wants to buy a HP computer. In the store, which is located in his city, the price is $500. The man searches the HP computer on the Internet. The price is $450. And then, the man buys it from Internet. However, the man waits for it for about 15 days. The truth is the price is low and the time takes too long. The online shopping is convenient and cheap. However, the shipping time takes too long. It cannot be called convenient. As a result, the online shopping is not very easy.

In conclusion, online shopping is more popular recently. People use it everyday. And the amount of online shopping stores amount is increasing very quickly. “According to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, there were over 205,000 complaints of Internet commerce-related fraud reported in 2004…” (Robertson, 2006, Para. 1) It is a huge amount. However, the online shopping still has same big problem: safety and convenient. These still cannot be solved completely. As this result, the online shopping is risky and complicated.

Protect The Real "Mermaid"---Dugong

In Harry Bligh’s article “Alarm over gill nets – Recreational anglers fear ban will be overturned” (2007), many dugongs died because of human’s activity. This is a very serious issue that makes a warning for us because dugong and sea animals are endangered now. Should we protect dugong or not? Many people said animals are our friends, no matter whether they are dangerous or not, whether they are beautiful or not. However, many animals have died because people want money, nice clothes or delicious food. They do not think animals are our friends. As a result, humans have killed lots of animals, and some of them have disappeared from our lives. Dugong also may get this destiny. People kill them because they eat fish which fisherman caught in a protected area. Is it a reason that people can take dugongs’ life? The answer is NO. We cannot kill them just because we need money or something else. Therefore, we need to protect dugongs. We need to protect dugongs as soon as possible. In fact, there are three ways that we can protect dugongs. We can build the dugong protection area, we can make a law to control the hunter and protect dugongs and the UN or Greenpeace should control countries’ marine military.

We may not know what dugongs are. Dugong is a kind of sea cow. According to Animals diversity web, they can grow as long as 5 meters and as heavy as 500Kg. They are very dangerous and they always attack fishermen near China, Japan and Australia. In some Asian countries, dugong is called the real mermaid. In the article “Dugong (Seacow)”, we know that dugong has been found in 43 countries (n, d). Most dugongs live in Asian and near Australia. Some counties already put dugong in their sea animal’s protection list. But there are also lots of problems. For example, US military base in Japan made lots of dugongs died (Kambayashi, 2008). Queensland wants to put gill nets into the dugong protection area (Bligh, 2007). There are also many problems like that. Therefore, we need of think of some ways to solve the problems.

First, we should build enough dugong protection areas and protect the wildlife area. We know dugong is a very dangerous sea animal. Our protecting them is also protecting us. The dugong is found in 43 countries along the western Pacific and Indian Oceans. (n, d,). Those countries need to build the dugong-protected areas. In fact, the dugong is dangerous. Therefore the protection area must be built far from human’s beaches. There are also some problems. One is protection area in LDCs (less developing countries). They do not have enough money to build a protection area. Maybe the LDCs governments support hunters to catch dugongs or other animals because of financial problems. Therefore, the UN needs to give money to help LDCs to build the protection areas. That is necessary to do as soon as possible. The other one is protection area in MDCs (more developing countries). MDCs have lots of militaries. That is also a big problem. And they also need a lot of resources from the ocean. Therefore, the pollution will be worse than in LDCs. So solving the problem of sea pollutions is the first important thing to do before MDCs build the protections area.

Also there are many dugongs that live far from every country. People need to do research that helps scientists to protect those dugongs. Protecting them in human’s way is easy and important and gives them a “house” to live in. Also, just dugong protection area is not enough, because a dugong does not just stay one place until its death. Therefore, scientists’ using high technology to protect them is also necessary, such as some little GPS that can help scientists know where dugongs go and what they should do to protect dugong. That can completely know what happened about that wild the dugongs and easier to protect the dugongs.

Second, we should make a new law to protect the dugong and other sea animals. Each country needs to make a law to protect dugong. One is do not kill or eat dugong or other animals. There are also many hunters who kill dugongs illegally. So the government also needs a law to control them. For example, the government should give them an amount that control them, such as they just can hunt 400 dugongs per year. If they broke the law, they will be caught and sent to jail for several years and pay a very heavy fine. They must study how important that protects animals during these times in jail. The other example, Queensland government give the dugong protection area’s manager pressure that put gill net into the dugong living area. That may make other sea species safe. However, dugong will be dead by this proposal. As a result, government should consider the best way to prevent the problem (Bligh, 2007).

Other is that we must study in a class about how important it is to protect sea animals. Nowadays, people are very busy to earn money, to live better. However, they do not have any knowledge about protecting dugong and sea animals. We cannot protect dugong very well if nobody knows how serious it is. That is a very heavy work to do, but we need to do that. For example, everyone should take a test before they can drive. So everybody knows what that means if the traffic light turns red. Therefore, if we take a dugong protection class well, we can protect them easier.

The last one of these proposals is that if people want to have a factory or buy a house near the sea, they must pay a very heavy tax every year because they may send lots of pollutants into the ocean. That can help government to protect dugong’s life. It is useful because no matter personal or government horse or factory, they are also making lots of pollutions. Therefore, if you want to live near the sea, you must pay a lot. That must be done because of the environment and animals’ lives.

Finally, the UN or Greenpeace (an international organization that works for environmental conservation and the preservation of endangered species) (Dict.cn n, d) should control countries’ marine military. Nowadays, lots of wars happen. Lots of human and animals died during the war. Therefore, the UN should control them to a right way to fix the problem between two or more countries. Some countries want to build base near the animals’ protection area. That is very dangerous, because the pollution from the base will kill animals. Also, the most important thing is, do not use chemical weapon during the war. The UN also wants to control that now. That is a pretty difficult rule because chemical weapons are very powerful and useful. It can change a trend during the war. However, we must stop using chemical weapons. It is really dangerous. On December 7th, Japan attacked U.S Pearl Harbor. Japan used the chemical weapons. Even now, Pearl Harbor is still dirty. No animal can live there. That is terrible. Therefore, stopping the use of the chemical weapons is necessary. The war control is very important also.

Opponents of protecting dugong say that protection is not good because dugong is dangerous. They say protecting dugong can make fisherman and some very unusual fish fall into danger. However, their idea is not right. Dugong, fisherman and unusual fish are a life cycle. It does not matter, who is right or not. Therefore, we could not kill dugong just because we want to protect humans and other animals. There is a very strong example. Many years ago, there were not too many sheep in china, because the wolf killed a lot of sheep. People could not feed sheep very well because of it. Therefore, people killed all of the wolves around this area. And then, sheep’s amounts became larger and larger. However, the sheep got a kind of disease. Nobody knows what was wrong with those sheep. Sheep were dead very quickly. And then, an old man told everybody, we need a wolf. That is an interesting story. It is also told us. We cannot kill dugong because dugong eats fish. Thus, protecting dugong is very important.

Also, natural ecosystem cannot be break. Dugong or sea animals, other small fish and human are not a circle. We should protect the natural ecosystem. If we break them, it is must be a problem. “Dugong is needed because they are part of the ecosystem and contribute to the fertility of the sea. The dugong's dung serves as a major food source for certain aquatic animals, thus increasing the volume of marine food available to man. The dugong's extinction, therefore, can affect the balance of the ecosystem and man's survival himself.” (Dugong in danger of extinction n, d)

In conclusion, dugong and other animals need to be protected as soon as possible. Animals are people’s friends. We need to protect them. We should build a protection area, clean the ocean and make a new law. These are only the few way to protect them. Live with them, love them and protect them. It is our responsibility. If everybody loves them, and then we cannot kill him or her any more. If the technology is ready, we can clean the ocean, and give them back a wonderful life. Saving sea animals’ lives is also saving human’s life.

My Favorite Dish
Have you ever eaten Chicken leg over fried rice? It is my favorite food. The materials are chicken leg with skin, some vegetable (depending on you), egg, green onion and rice. It is very traditional food. Therefore, I use many season from China, such as soy sauce, Chinese vinegar, white pepper and bean sauce. Now all the predation steps are finished let cook the chicken leg over rice.

At first, clean the chicken leg and use hot water to get the blood out of the leg. And then, put oil and sugar into the pan until the oil becomes hotter and sugar become dark red. Put the clean chicken leg into the pan and blend the chicken until the chicken is done. During this process, put soy sauce and Chinese vinegar into the pan. Still blend it about 10 minutes. Put bean sauce and water together using mid-fire to cook it about 30 minutes. And then, just keep it on the fire; we go to the next step. Fried rice.

Second, it is fried rice. Put oil into another pan. Put green onion and egg into the pan and blend the egg until the egg is cooked. And then, put rice into the pan; blend the rice and egg together. Cook it 5 minutes.

All the steps are finished. Just put the chicken over the fried rice. The very delicious food, the chicken leg over fried rice, is done. It is very delicious and has lots of nutrition.

Military, Please Go Away from Dugongs


In Takehiko Kambayashi’s article “Ruling to protect dugong could put Northern Okinawa aid at risk,” the author states that, the American military should protect the marine mammal when they want to build a proposed base near the animals’ “home”. First, the author explains that the U.S. Defense Department found the problem between the military base in Okinawa and the dugongs. Some people think that military need to research the dugong in Okinawa because there are many dugongs near the military base. Second, the author shows that there are many U.S. troops in Japan. Therefore, U.S. government should discuss the situation about military and dugongs. “The 35,000 US troops stationed in Japan.” (Kambayashi, 2008) Third, the author argues that U.S. put many troops in Japan, so they need protect the sea animals. The government has money to build a luxury spa. However, they do not have money to protect the dugongs. At end, the author states, “There is no place like Okinawa on earth.” (Kambayashi 2008) That means we need to protect the ocean and protect the dugongs.


In the author’s opinion, the dugongs should be protected by the military. I agree with that. In recent years, the world is not peaceful. War is often happened. Animals were killed by the war. Therefore, we need protect them and help them get a safety place to live. In fact, military should consider where they should build a base if there are many sea animals live in this ocean, the United Nations should make a law that protect the sea animals and if it is must use a war the solve the problem, do not use chemical weapons.
First, military should consider where they should build a base if there is many sea animals live in this ocean. People must not just think about themselves. They build a military base just consider their own benefit or convention. However, they kill a lot of animals when they build some military bas into the sea. For example, Okinawa, Japan has lots of dugongs. However, the U.S. military build a base that makes lots of dugongs died. “A federal judge said a US military base propose for the depressed area must evaluate impact on the marine mammal.” (Kambayashi 2008) Therefore, where should build a base or not is very important to protect dugongs and animals life.
Second, the United Nations should make a law that protects the sea animals. We all know protect dugongs and sea animals are not just a national problem. That is global problem. Thurs, UN should give each country a law that can control them to protect the dugongs and sea animals. For example, if there are many dugongs and animals, it must cancel the ship route. That can protect the animals because the pollutions problem will go down. Controlling is important to save the dugongs and sea animals’ life.


Third, if it is must use a war to solve the problem, do not use chemical weapons. That is a pretty difficult rule because chemical weapons is very powerful and useful. It can change a trend during the war. However, we must stop use chemical weapons. It is really dangerous. On December 7th, Japan attack U.S Pearl Harbor. Japan use the chemical weapons. Until now, Pearl Harbor is still dirty. No animal can live there. That is terrible. Therefore, stop using the chemical weapons is necessary.


In conclusion, protecting animals is very important because if the animals disappeared already, that means people live alone on the earth. There are many ways to protect the sea animals. In the military situation, we only can do is we need peaceful world. No war, No military pollution. Although it is only a dream, we can do something to reduce the problem. UN need control the problem as soon as possible because it is not only one country can solve the problem. If people do it well, the dugongs and sea animals will live forever.

Drawing Your Vocabulary

Everyone thinks learning a foreign language is very difficult, especially vocabulary. It does not mean vocabulary is head, but we waste time an vocabulary. Sometimes it does not work. Everyone hates vocabulary. However, I have a good idea that helps us to learn vocabulary, drawing a picture in your mind. What is that? That means when you have to remember some vocabularies, you can think a picture about the definition of the word. For example, “nice”, if you do not know the meaning of this word, you can draw beauty in your brain. And then you feel interested about this word. After that you found you can remember “nice”. Is it not magical? Draw a picture of a word. You can remember the word very quickly and you will hope you want to remember a lot of vocabularies.

IMac is a kind of PC, but it is good at education. In IMac, you can find all programs about how to learn a language. IMac include dictionary, language transition and lots of programs about education. For example, I try to write a essay in English. However I do not understand grammar clearly. The IMac can help me to fix the problem. Another example is when I write an academic paper and I do not know how to write “so” in an academic way. I just put so in the IMac dictionary, and then the IMac can tell me which is the best word that is similar to “so”. IMac is really improving my English. In fact, I can write English essay more academically and I know how to use grammar as well. I am surprised that technology can help me improve my second language. If I have the opportunity to teach Chinese students English, I will allow them buy an IMac PC. That is really helps us to learn a second language.
